Senior and Advanced Management Training

All senior managers need to be highly skilled.
That means highly trained.

There are many management models that have been around for a long time and are the staple diet of management training courses.

These familiar favourites include:

• Maslow’s hierarchy of needs
• Theory X theory Y
• Learning styles
• Situational leadership
• NLP:  Visual, auditory, kinaesthetic
• Belbin’s team roles

But, surely, there must be more to life than this!

Thankfully: Yes.

Because, what really drives people’s behaviour are issues that are not covered by the material listed above.
People are less interested in whether you are an “Activist” or “Theorist” learning style, and
MORE interested in whether or not you are:

• Right or wrong
• Fair or unfair
• Honest or dishonest
• Interested in truth or not
• Clear or unclear

People are interested in whether:

• You will do it or not
• You will use acceptable or unacceptable language
• You will offer Reasons or excuses
• You will know when to properly compromise and when to stand your ground.

These are not questions of Psychology.
These are questions of Philosophy.

That's is why advanced and senior management training should be geared to have less PSYCHO-babble.
It should be more designed to concentrate on issues that are political, economic, moral, ethical and philosophical.

Philosophy has six branches:

1. Aesthetics: How you look, dress and sound.
2. Politics / economics: To what degree do you believe in the principle of Free market?
3. Ethics: Are you honest, or not?
4. Logic: The nature of rational thought: Can you think logically, or not?
5. Reality: Do you face reality, or do you make stuff up, to suit yourself?
6. Spirituality: Does religious belief colour your decisions?

Senior and Advanced management training covers questions of your philosophy.

If you are looking for more advanced training days for your managers: try looking at philosophic models, rather than psychological models.
You may gain an advantage.
