Change is inevitable: Every moment the situations changes.

This course sets out some interesting and practical ideas that can help us make the most of the opportunities and challenges that will come our way in 2008.
C.A.N.I. : Continuous And Never-ending Improvement
Manage people through change Part one:
Change is: Continuous and never ending
Two kinds of change:
Evolutionary change: Baby steps
Revolutionary change: Giant leaps
Manage people through change Part two:
Five Part Formula for Successful Teams
- Clear Purpose / Standards
- Good plan
- Decisive action
- Gather the feedback (off target and on target)
- Change in the light of off- target feedback
Manage people through change Part three:
Opposite Five-Part Failure Formula
Any off these five will cause a team to fail:
- Drifting
- No plan--wing it
- No action--procrastination
- Fight feedback- Mistake criticism for failure or an insult.
- Say NO to change--- stubbornness
Manage people through change Part Four:
Theory into Practice
Agree answers to the following six questions.
- What will be the goal/ vision for the next year?
- What will be our professional “code of conduct” within the team?
- What is the purpose and importance of feedback?
- What is the quality of communication of feedback within the team, currently?
- How do we distinguishing between “constructive” and “destructive” off-target feedback?
- To what degree can we expect “certainty and control” in an ever-changing work environment?
Discussion and decision for the team:
Managing people through change - summary and action plan
The training method follows this general pattern:
- The trainer gives a clear explanation of the point in question.
- The trainer then demonstrates the principle and gives specific
examples.
- Then, the delegates practice by doing an exercise with each other.
- The delegates practice by doing exercise with the trainer.
- All points are supported with full written notes to take away.
- Delegates are asked to write down an associated action, for each
point made.
- (At the end of the day, we have about twenty such actions, from
which the delegates choose six which are the most personally meaningful).
Note: we do not believe in placing people in any situation of embarrassment
by demanding that they 'perform' in front of the whole group. So you can
relax: come on this course and be at ease; ready to learn new skills!
