programme to improve business writing and personal communication skills
Your team must be able to communicate effectively
in writing.
That requires proper planning, technique and clear
thinking.
This course gives practical advice and specific
methods that will enable you write more clearly, accurately and
persuasively.
What does
the business writing skills course cover?
The course covers the following important topics:
A definition of the communication process. Communication is “a
transfer of information and emotion”.
Your writing
needs to have three qualities:
1. Understandable- it must be well organised. 2.
Convincing- it must be well reasoned.
3. Memorable- it must be well written.
Notes on how
to achieve the above three qualities:
1. How to be
more understandable
How to decide on the main purpose of your message
How to map out the logical structure of your message
How to give definitions of key terms
How to write for your specific audience

The method
of training is as follows:
The trainer gives a clear explanation of the point
in question.
Then demonstrates the specific principle or method or idea and gives
specific examples.
The delegates then practice by doing an exercise with each other and/or
they do a practical exercise with the trainer.
Then, the delegates are asked to write down an associated action, for
each point made.
All the points are therefore tied to the delegate’s specific work
context.
At the end of the day, the delegates are asked to choose six which are
the most personally meaningful from the many points that are made
throughout the day.
All points are supported with full printed and hand written (by them)
