The Effective Leader
A one day course

This programme is designed to give the leader-manager a practical method to help them become more effective.

The purpose of the training is to help the leader-manager to interact with people in such a way as to improve productivity and create a good working atmosphere.

Objectives
The course has four objectives:

  • To develop a strong sense of purpose.

All leader managers must be able to demonstrate four key abilities:

  1. To create and sustain “Clarity of purpose”.
  2. To communicate accurately.
  3. To inspire themselves towards the positive.
  4. To inspire others towards the positive.

How to provide “clarity of purpose”

  • Involve people in a goal-setting programme.
  • Provide a definite set of written standards that you would expect to apply to every member of the team (including yourself!)

How to inspire yourself towards the positive.
What is a positive mental attitude?

  • What it can do for you and your team.
  • How to get one.
  • “I need a 420 attitude for a 400 problem”

How to positively affect the attitude of your team.

  • Four steps to an emotion.
  • Beware “killer questions”.
  • Ask problem-solving questions.

Communicate with clarity

  • Make affirmative statements.
  • Have clear definitions.
